Sushi – More of an Art than Food

I can’t say Yummmm Sushi, I don’t think I will crave for Sushi any day but I like Sushi very very much. I have had Sushi in the past, but I have never been to an authentic/traditional Japanese Sushi Bar. When my friend took me to this Sushi bar, where she has been going for the last 10 years, I was awe struck the way the food was made, the attention to detail paid at every single step and the fabulous presentation of it. The Chef’s deftness with the knife, when he made a mat out of a cucumber I didn’t blink my eyes even once. The skilled craftsmanship over the sea food and colorful vegetables, it’s a darn good feast for the eyes. Even if you are not a big Sushi fan, sit in a sushi bar once and try a cooked sushi or a vegetarian sushi. The sneak peek on the Japanese art of food making is definitely a worthy experience.

A sushi place is to be judged by the freshness, quality and the quantity of the fish served. With my friend being a regular to this place, I got a lot of behind the scene information about the place and the chefs. One very interesting piece was the small loupe used by the head chef to inspect the fish’s eyes to determine its freshness and health that is to be used in the Sushi. The place is Oami Japanese Restaurant, and if you live in Orange County try this place, it’s worth the time and money.

Chill out in my Pergola!!!

As typical a Taurean I am…: -). It has been my plan to start "Blogging" for the last 3 years, lazy that I didn’t start , adamant - I was to stick with my desktop notepads. The past three months I have been saving a lot of drafts in my outlook for my blogs. When I go back to my drafts I don’t want to post them online.

One of the few reasons I couldn’t blog, I don’t want to twist and tweak my language, I don’t want to rethink my choice of words every time I post a blog. Is Blogging equivalent of writing a journal? if so, will you let others read your journals? Whatever… Here I am :- )
